Elevator Gate: Arkansas coaches get stuck in press box elevator at halftime
http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/arkansas-football/arkansas-coaches-stuck-elevator-auburn/According to the Thomas Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, the Arkansas coaches located in the press box got stuck in the elevator during halftime on the way down to the locker room.
They never made it to the locker room for halftime to talk with the players.
“We ran into a little glitch,” Bielema said. “Our coaches never made it down from the half. They were stuck in elevators. There was kind of a little audible there we had to deal with, but the great thing was the kids had big eyes and big ears.
“It is what it is,” he said. “We had to roll with the flow. Obviously I have coaches up in the booth who look forward to coming down here and meeting as a staff and get on the same page. We were able to communicate by phone.
“I’m not trying to make a big deal out of it, they just weren’t able to get down there. I don’t have the full story on it, I just know they were actually stuck.”
Auburn pulled away from Arkansas in the second half, holding the Hogs to just 51 total yards and zero points.
Apparently, the elevator system at Jordan-Hare Stadium isn’t “Auburn Fast

AU Wires
The world’s only structure built specifically to be rolled with toilet paper is now even more rollable.
A third wire was recently strung between each pole of the Toomer’s Triangle, allowing for two rows of AU logos to be suspended over the intersection of College Street and Magnolia Avenue downtown. The City of Auburn hopes the addition will allow for more substantial rollings of the corner.
This is what it looked like last year.
The wire system, which was installed in August 2013, will likely be in place for several more football seasons. See you at the Triangle

Report: Harvey Updyke plans to sit in dunk tank for charity
Harvey Updyke, the disgraced University of Alabama fan who poisoned Auburn’s oak trees at Toomer’s Corner, will give supporters of both schools a chance to show what they think of him for charity.
According to ESPN.com, Updyke has agreed to appear at a charity event Sept. 29 in Mobile, Ala., during which anyone can pay for the opportunity to either dunk him in a dunking booth or throw pies at his face.
RELATED: Toomer’s Corner facelift is nearly complete
Details have yet to be worked out, but the event is being organized by Alabama fan T.J. Hodges, whose foundation helps raise money for family members to visit terminally ill patients before they die.
On Sunday, Auburn unveiled numerous upgrades to the corner where Tigers fans throw toilet paper while celebrating major events and championships.
However, new trees won’t be planted until the start of next year.
After poisoning the trees in 2010, Updyke bragged about doing so on the Paul Finebaum Radio Show and ended the call with ” “Roll damn Tide!” After Auburn’s attempts to save the landmark failed he ended up serving 76 days in jail following his guilty plea.
The 65-year-old Updyke remains on probation for another four years. The terms include a 7 p.m. curfew, bans from attending any college sporting event and visiting the Auburn campus, and talking to reporters. He was also ordered to pay nearly $800,000 in restitution.
