Report: Harvey Updyke plans to sit in dunk tank for charity
Harvey Updyke, the disgraced University of Alabama fan who poisoned Auburn’s oak trees at Toomer’s Corner, will give supporters of both schools a chance to show what they think of him for charity.
According to
ESPN.com, Updyke has agreed to appear at a charity event Sept. 29 in Mobile, Ala., during which anyone can pay for the opportunity to either dunk him in a dunking booth or throw pies at his face.

Details have yet to be worked out, but the event is being organized by Alabama fan T.J. Hodges, whose foundation helps raise money for family members to visit terminally ill patients before they die.
On Sunday, Auburn unveiled numerous upgrades to the corner where Tigers fans throw toilet paper while celebrating major events and championships.
However, new trees won’t be planted until the start of next year.
After poisoning the trees in 2010, Updyke bragged about doing so on the Paul Finebaum Radio Show and ended the call with ” “Roll damn Tide!” After Auburn’s attempts to save the landmark failed he ended up serving 76 days in jail following his guilty plea.
The 65-year-old Updyke remains on probation for another four years. The terms include a 7 p.m. curfew, bans from attending any college sporting event and visiting the Auburn campus, and talking to reporters. He was also ordered to pay nearly $800,000 in restitution.
